All A320 series aircraft are required to be at Riga (EVRA) by the 28th of June. Yes, all of them. Yes, even that one. You know the one. Once they're all home like good little aircraft, 8 out of 11 A320-200s will be retired and escorted to storage in a group flight — because they deserve a sendoff after forever of being flown everywhere except Riga.

The A220 Era
Starts Day One.

On the day Synaptic drops the A220, we will immediately begin flying it out of EVRA via a wet lease of 3 Airbus A220-300s from airBaltic. Day one. No waiting. We will be ready.

The wet lease bridges the gap between the aircraft being available in the sim and our own liveries being done. We're not waiting months to fly the type. We start immediately.

They are in Mirabel. All 23 of them. Just chilling. Living their best life in Quebec. They will eventually be flown to Riga in a massive community delivery flight on VATSIM — which will be an event and a half. Date TBD.

Why the Wet Lease?
Why Aren't We Just Flying Our Own A220s Already?
Here's the thing. The liveries aren't done yet. I have to make them. Personally. By hand. All of them. This takes time. I am one person. I have fingers, and those fingers can only move so fast. The airBaltic wet lease exists specifically so we can start flying the type while I — your beloved founder — sit in a dark room painting virtual aeroplanes. Please be patient.
Will the liveries be worth it?
The liveries will be beautiful. Worth the wait. Probably.
Should I be excited?
The A220 era is coming. Please be excited. I've been working very hard.
